Giving Legacy of Liberty Legacy of Liberty

The Foundation’s outreach and giving program directed exclusively at Law-Related Education (LRE) is its Legacy of Liberty program, which was established in 2003.

Each fall at the Nebraska State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting, the Bar Foundation hosts its Legacy of Liberty Breakfast. This complimentary breakfast is an opportunity to share with Bar members the accomplishments and needs of the Bar Foundation’s LRE programs.

"A democratic society depends upon an informed and educated citizenry."
- Thomas Jefferson

Other events have also been held, including a luncheon in North Platte, which featured Mock Trial students from North Platte, Hershey, and Ogallala schools telling in their own words how LRE opportunities have changed their high school experiences. Local attorneys invited the guests, and more than 85 members of the legal community and others interested in LRE attended the luncheon sponsored by the First National Bank of North Platte.

Through events such as this one and communications via the Law & Learning Newsletter and the Foundation’s website, thousands of Nebraska citizens have become aware of the good work the Foundation is doing by educating the youth of our state to become informed and engaged citizens.
