Allen L. and Ginny Overcash to Be Honored at 2011 Fellows Dinner

Allen L. Overcash and his wife Ginny are to be inducted as members of the Legacy of Liberty's Soaring Eagle Society at the annual Fellows Dinner on the evening of April 2 in Lincoln. The Overcashes are being recognized for completing their pledge of $50,000 toward the Standing Bear Scholarship Fund, established in 2007.

Foundation Board of Directors member Charlie Wright will bestow the honor, thanking the Overcashes for their most generous contribution to the Scholarship Fund. The Standing Bear Scholarship gives Nebraska Native Americans an opportunity to pursue a law degree at the University of Nebraska College of Law. Wright and his wife Suzy are the creators of this scholarship.

In addition to being inducted into the Soaring Eagle Society, Overcash will receive the designation of Diamond Fellow of the Nebraska State Bar Foundation. Fellows who donate $25,000 or more qualify at the Diamond giving level, the highest recognized in the Distinguished Fellows program.

Overcash, a Foundation Fellow since 1993, has practiced law at the Lincoln firm of Woods & Aitken since 1959, with an emphasis in private construction contracts and government contract matters. He is currently an Adjunct Professor Construction Law at the University of Nebraska College of Law and lectures on construction legal topics before legal and industry organizations and university classes around the country. Overcash also serves as a neutral arbitrator and mediator.
