While a Civics education is part of every academic year, it is especially important this year with our upcoming presidential election. During a US presidential election year, it is a special time in your child’s life to see how our government works.
Children in these grades are curious and excited to learn! Use this time to talk about voting. When a political ad comes on the radio or TV, point it out and explain to your child what the ad is saying, talk about what party/person you support and encourage them to communicate to you about what they think. Who would they vote for? Why?
