A former Nebraska State Bar Foundation President, the late George Svoboda, and his wife, Melrae, established this permanent endowment in 2006. Its purpose is to fund Civics Education programs administered by the Bar Foundation. Income earned from the George and Melrae Svoboda Legal Education Fund is used for expenses associated with existing or future Civics Education programs.
George demonstrated his exemplary commitment to civic engagement through his service to his country, community, the law profession and his fellow Nebraskans. Svoboda graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1939 and ROTC Commission as a 2nd Lieutenant.
