Created to help underwrite the Judge Lyle Strom High School Mock Trial Program, the Mock Trial Endowment assists in funding this one-of-a-kind educational activity. Gifts to this educational endowment may be made at any time.
The Mock Trial Program started in Nebraska in the mid 1980s. Nebraska participated in the first multi-state competition in 1985 when the Ogallala High School team won.
In 1998, at the request of the Bar Association, the Nebraska State Bar Foundation assumed the administrative duties and funding of the Mock Trial Program. In 2001 the Bar Foundation hosted a successful National High School Mock Trial Championship in Omaha. Because of the successful fundraising for nationals that year, the remaining funds were used to establish the Mock Trial Endowment.
