Patrick Cooper, shareholder at Fraser Stryker, was recently honored 2023 in Lincoln at the Nebraska State Bar Foundation’s annual Fellows Dinner.
He received the Bar Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes a lawyer's service to the legal profession.
Cooper attended Creighton University for his undergraduate degree and in 2002, he earned his J.D. at Creighton University School of Law.
Attorney and friend Mark Laughlin said, “Pat has a lengthy history of service, most importantly in coaching high school mock trial…Since 2014, Pat’s teams have won the Nebraska State Championship every year, with the exception of 2020, when his team finished second.”
Cooper has coached three teams that have made the finals of the National High School Mock Trial Tournament, winning the National Championship in 2015 with Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart.
“Over that time, Pat has given hundreds, if not thousands, of hours to coach these students. Some of the students on his team have gone to law school and many others appear headed in that direction due to Pat’s great coaching, guidance, and leadership. Pat makes mock trial fun - which you can tell from photos over the years - the kids are always smiling.”
Headquartered in Lincoln, the Bar Foundation is dedicated to serving the citizens of Nebraska and the legal profession through the administration and funding of innovative programs directed at the improvement of the administration of justice and the fulfillment of the American vision of equal justice for all.
